Kathy Pico, an Ecuadorian native lost her foot to Cancer at age 38. This was a struggle that most people will never understand. Though, Kathy found a sort of inspiration in becoming an amputee.
“When I lost my foot, I put two feet on the ground”
So she decided to climb mountains. With help from Range of Motion Project, a nonprofit that provides high-quality prosthetic care to underserved populations, Kathy was given a well-constructed prosthetic that was up to the challenge. On July 28th, 2017 Kathy attempted Cayambe, Ecuador’s 3rd tallest volcano (18,996 ft) with confidence in each step. See her story that was also featured at the 2017 Adventure Film Festival.
