Words: Leanne Wren

Jackson Hole is special.
Find yourself there in the winter and you will have access to some of the most challenging terrain in North America. If you’re lucky enough to be there while Jackson is getting hammered on with snow, expect to have the time of your life! I was not so lucky, but I still had a ball and the lack of new snow only left me wanting more.

Spring Break in Jackson Hole

Rob Kingwill’s Pow Wow is in its fifth consecutive year (Congrats Rob)! This event is something I’ve wanted to check out since year one. Pow Wow is not the typical snowboard demo event. It is a gathering of snowboarders to get out and ride one of the most amazing resorts in the world with some of the most important people in snowboarding. Pro riders, board shapers and shop owners are all there to ride the new boards and their creative shapes. Brands as big as Burton and as small at Franco Snow Shapes (based out of Jackson Hole) get to take advantage of allowing a group of talented and particularly opinionated snowboarders to get on their boards and offer feedback.

Wiggle through Jackson spring slush

Although we didn’t get any pow during the event, we did get sunshine and therefore slush which we know to be just as fun. Ripping laps through Dick’s Ditch with Rob Kingwill & Mike Basich is something I’ll remember forever.
