Backcountry Basics – Purgatory Resort – Durango

This women specific Backcountry Basics course.
Avalanche education is the best piece of gear you can have in the backcountry.
Whether you’re splitboarding, AT skiing, snowmobiling, etc. get the proper knowledge to help you move through the backcountry safely, efficiently and confidently. VNTRbirds tailored this Backcountry Basics course for women who are new in the backcountry. This course on Purgatory Resort is also a great fit for those thinking they are not in “backcountry shape” yet. We will take the lift up and then tour in the backcountry from the top instead of having to start from the bottom. Lift ticket it included with the course.
· Introduction to backcountry trip planning.
· Introduction to avalanche safety.
· Practice with your avalanche safety gear.
· A fun and educational day with other women from your community just getting into the backcountry!
Each participant receives an automatic $30 off from VNTRbirds scholarship fund.
HELMETS ARE REQUIRED.

Cancelation policy:
· Notice of cancellation more than 14 days in advance will receive a full refund less a 10% administrative fee.
· Notice of cancellation less than 14 days in advance will receive no refund. Clients may have the option to transfer to another course or clinic with a $50 transfer fee (if available).
There is a processing fee on credit card transactions that is not collected by VNTRbirds. Please note that because this fee is not collected by us, we are unable to refund this fee in the event that a refund is requested.
