In 2016, Liza Dietzen was found unconscious in the woods, nearly frozen to death. Liza has been chasing her dreams of competing in the famous dogsled race, the Iditarod. In her words, “To see 12 to 16 different personalities [of the sled team] all coming together, and you’re a part of that, it’s hard to put into words exactly what it means to you…it’s magical.”

After she was defeated by the 240 mile race in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Liza had a hard time moving on from the guilt she had for the decisions she made while on course. Now, she is ready to face the UP 200 again and looking to qualify for the Iditarod!
